Non-Building UVs |
I have finished modeling and I'm just about finished UVing. I only have 6 more objects left to UV which are the lamps above the counter and the pipes. I don't know how to UV the pipes though. I'm looking forward to finally being able to texture everything. Our team is a little off schedule, but we purposefully gave ourselves a buffer in case we needed it. I'm still hoping our team can finish at least a couple days before the due date.

GGE Weekly 12/1
Our group (#11) is working on making buildings for Borderlands. I'm working on the Shop building. We have to finish UVing and texturing so we can transfer into Unity. Twice I've lost all my UV maps and I'm not sure why. It's pretty frustrating...

230: GGE Update 2
I was doing the elevator pitch competition so I didn't work on modeling as much as I would have liked to since Tuesday. I added bevels to the barrel, re-did the lamps, added a pipe, and completely re-did the standing cylinder as separate pieces instead of extrusions. I also worked on my sign, but it didn't come out the way I wanted so I left it as it was originally. By our next blog post I would like to have the lit up sign done as well as the door. That's really all I have left that I need to do. I might also add windows with bars over them. We'll see. I've already started UVing. The building is basically one big extrusion so I have a lot of UVing I still have to work on.

230: GGE Modeling Progress
Currently I am modeling my building from Borderlands for this project. It's almost done. I just have to make one more tube, remake the lamps, modify the neon sign, modify the barrel laying on it's side, and redo the standing cylindrical shape on the roof. Our group decided to have our model finished before class this Thursday that way we can focus on UV mapping and texturing the following week.

230: Game Enviroment Scene - Block Out
We are Group 11 and we are referencing Borderlands for our scene. We're trying to accomplished the same worn and rugged look to our buildings while also adding our own flare. For one of our final renders we want to create a first person view of someone wandering through town. I am responsible for the "Shop" building which is in the back. I also want to attach a neon sign to my building.

230 Gun: Level of Detail
These are Sci-Fi guns for the level of detail assignment. I have a high poly fun with less than 13,000 faces, a middle poly gun with less than 3,000 faces, and a low poly gun with less than 1,000 faces. I also wanted to experiment with colored light. I wasn't exactly sure how much detail to give the low and mid poly guns... Based of the LOD video the low and mid poly guns were significantly less detailed, but they also had much smaller poly count. So I'm not sure if I have enough detail or not for my lower poly guns. I didn't really know what low, mid, and high poly was till this assignment so I feel like an example for reference would have been really helpful for this assignment.

230 Desk: Week 4
I had the Anim Jam this past weekend so I didn't get nearly as much modeling done as I would have liked to. I'm glad I finally figured out how to make the wood textures on the desk and chair look right. It took me a while to figure out. I'm also not ecstatic with how my Bomb's feet came out, but they do the job for now. I want to add more objects to my scene including books, drawings, a small plant, a stack of papers, a stuff animal, and a couple other things (but we'll see how that goes).
I also want to learn how to add shrubbery and foliage. Maybe a couple bushes in the background.

230: Desk Weekly 3
So I'm falling behind on this project. Not even halfway done... .__. I think it's because since it's not due till the 15th so I felt like I have a lot of time. At the same time though, not really.

230: Glass Tutorial
This is my rendered image of a wineglass. One of the 331 students said that I should use a mia material for glass. Maybe I'll experiment with that next time.

230: Desk Weekly 1
I'm still working on designing my furniture. The colors are definitely not final. I found the textures I wanted to use for everything in my scene currently. I need work on scaling my chair and making adjustments to my desk. Then texturing those items. Then modeling the knick knacks on the desk and texturing them.

230: Blocked Out Scene
This is my blocked out scene. Basically the desk starts in the person's room then expands into a forest. I think I need to make curved walls so people don't think they're in a boxed space and feel more like they're outdoors.

230: Pencil Project
This is my final rendering of the Pencil Project for Maya. Originally I wanted to attempt making a Rainbow Pencil, but moved on to something simpler fairly quickly. I just wish this came out better.
